The Project that aims to contribute to community preparedness and resilience from the serious threat of natural disasters through knowledge sharing. The project is simple:
Our Regional Officers Map natural disasters through published forecasts, evaluations, research, and a disaster hotline through which community members can report on natural disasters as they occur.
Consultations with a sample of the most affected communities will determine best practices towards risk preparedness and mitigation.
They travel to communities most affected by natural disasters, and conduct workshops training locals--or Disaster Risk Guides--on how to get communities ready for a natural disaster.
These Disaster Guides are then given knowledge tools (see knowledge hub) to help educate communities on disaster preparedness. These tools vary from region to region, community-to-community, culture-to-culture, and consist of various formats, from posters, to stage performances, to songs.
